Giacomo Infantino

Giacomo Infantino's practice starts from a deep connection with the territory in which he lives that will induce him to focus his attention on different border and peripheral places in Northern Italy and central Europe. Through photography and video he carries out operations on the landscape intent on creating new forms of inner and personal readings on the perception of the landscape with the aim of transforming them into a participatory narrative able to externalize some aspects of the contemporaneity linked to the sense of living. Using multiple languages, such as the site-specific installation on the territory, often consisting of light sources, screens, ephemeral materials, but also video and cinema, it aims to raise awareness of education about the preservation and research of a landscape that we are timely losing. Born in Varese in 1993, he graduated in New Technology of Art - Art and Media - at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera, Milan, with a thesis on public commissions in Italy. Subsequently he continues, in the same institution, the Master in Photography and Visual Arts that will lead him to move abroad to complete his studies at the Hochschule Für Grafik Und Buchkunst in Leipzig, Germany. Since January 2020 he has been contributor for Zone Magazine. He currently lives and works between Milan and Berlin.
