SOUND INSTALLATION

Each work has something ingenious as well as inaccessible in its visual shape at the eyes of who watch it. In this way the viewer is left to questioning about its realization. It’s extremely difficult to approach or imagine a work without knowing its history. Although the annotation of the artist could guide us, it will never be enough to describe the months spent in its making process. That’s why I decided, for this project, to insert into each work the process I followed to achieve its final realization. I feel the process could be easily understood just observing the objects while listening to their sounds.Four different involucres like shells, which all differ for technique and material used, are suspended in an environment where the public is invited to listen and participate as an active component of the work itself. Four small containers reveal their own time of creation through the sound of a past condition brought into the present. The aim is to play with the lag of the time perception: putting the viewer in the condition to WATCH something in its present time and stable state, while LISTENING to its unstable and ephemeral past
