Biografia e-cor ensemble

e-cor ensemble is an electro-acoustic music project founded in 2013, consisting of Mirjana Nardelli, Cristian Maddalena and Francesco Altilio. Their production is based on the cultivation and aesthetics of sound which, explored and investigated through various artistic forms, become the focus of the ensemble, the common element in all their works. The key element is represented by dialectic interaction and multimedia. Only through dialogue can the e-cor ensemble achieve and express investigation. The sound is to be understood as the element of union of all the art forms under consideration. Influenced by acousmatic art, their activity focuses on applied music, sound design, improvisation and video art. Improvisation is one of the more consolidated practices of the ensemble. They are active members of the "OEOAS" orchestra, directed by Elio Martusciello. They also perform improvised art and live electronics with double bass player Roberto Bellatalla and vocalist Natalie Lithwick. With the soundtrack of the experimental film “Vormittagsspuk” by Hans Richter, they achieved great recognition and received many prizes: Combat Prize 2016, Sounds of Silences, Le Forme del Suono 2015, an exhibition in the museums of Livorno: Museo Civico Giovanni Fattori and Fortezza vecchia and were part of the 2016 MateraIntermedia festival. In 2016 they wrote and performed their first musical opera, “The Tell-Tale Heart” according to e-cor ensemble, who were responsible for the music, direction and lyrics. Their pieces and operas are played and performed at Latina, Rome, Naples, Florence, Milan, New York, Palermo, Ghent, Leuk, Livorno and Bolzano.
